What is face reading? Chinese face reading is an ancient branch of Chinese medicine, which teaches that you were born with a personal blueprint that is yours and yours alone, and that this inner architecture can be seen in your outer design - the features of your face
The secrets of your inner nature and personal potential are eloquently inscribed in the curve of your cheeks, the shape of your eyes, the contour of your brows, the unique language of your original design.

You Can Choose -- Only 90 Seconds
One of the many powerful messages your face reveals is what story you tend to tell yourself -- about who you are, and what your life is like -- those patterns of thought and emotion that repeat over and over throughout your day.
This story is what keeps you locked into creating your future based on your past. But when you can discover why you’ve been telling yourself that story, you have the power to break free.
A woman in a recent workshop had a huge “Aha!” moment when she learned the features on her face explained why she had struggled with social anxiety and shyness all her life.
These patterns of emotion weren’t her fault -- they were part of her inner nature, but she’d been letting herself get swept away in these feelings for decades and over time they had really interfered with her finding happiness in life.
We all tend to get locked into patterns of perception and belief in this way. But I want to share two quotes with you that can really help you move beyond these old limitations:

| Philip Schultz |
|
Pulitzer Prize winning poet Philip Schultz was recently interviewed about his struggle with dyslexia as a child. He talked about how liberating it was to finally discover that it was not his fault – that it was due to a problem in his brain.
It was this realization that empowered him to finally be able to learn to read. “When someone gives you the opportunity to step outside of your current reality, it changes the story you’ve been telling yourself. It can change the entire course of your life.”

Jill Bolte-Taylor |
And lastly, neuroscientist Jill Bolte Taylor shares with us an amazing new discovery -- that it really only takes 90 seconds for your system to process an emotion. You are completely in charge of whether you click back into that feeling after those 90 seconds have passed.
Here she uses anger as an example of one of many emotions we experience:
“Once the anger response is triggered, the chemical released by my brain surges through my body and I have a physiological experience. Within 90 seconds from the initial trigger, the chemical component of my anger has completely dissipated from my blood and my automatic response is over.
If, however, I remain angry after those 90 seconds have passed, then it is because I have chosen to let that circuit continue to run. Moment by moment, I make the choice to either hook into my neurocircuitry or move back into the present moment, allowing that reaction to melt away as fleeting physiology.”
The reason we can’t stay in the present moment and instead fall right back into the feeling is because we’re so used to our story, we believe it as reality. As with Philip Schultz’s experience, it’s when you get an opportunity to step outside of your story, it can change the entire course of your life.
My shy student used her new understanding to break free of her past so fully that she’s now in a new career as a public speaker! What could you discover in your own face to move beyond your old story?

Reading Steve Jobs’ Face
We lost brilliant Steve Jobs at such a young age -- and since his death, there’s been so much in the news about how he truly changed the world. I want to honor him with a reading about how his genius could be seen in his face.
His highly rounded forehead indicated a man with a very innovative mind, whose rich imagination went beyond just the linear, logical approach, to create ideas or solve problems in unusual ways.
Someone with this kind of feature often leaves others mystified at how they came up with the solutions they did; they have inner intuitive resources others don’t.
But his forehead also showed a man with the potential for strong emotions, and especially if he got angry, it’d be a powerful force. Jobs was known for the intensity of his anger!
This domed-shaped forehead is also associated with an attraction to spirituality. Jobs studied Buddhism, and used alternative medicine during his struggle with his illness. And many people would say that using his products comes close to a spiritual experience!
When you add the meaning of Jobs’ nose to this equation, it revealed a sensitive and highly aware human being with the potential to be quite a visionary. But his nose also showed a strong dose of perfectionism, someone obsessed with getting every detail right.
While that meant whatever he produced would be elegantly beautiful in every way, it also ensured he’d be very hard to work with because of his insistence on perfection. A nose like this is also considered the sign of someone who needs to do something meaningful in the world and who’d want to feel a sense of the sacred in his work.
Jobs’ deep-set eyes showed us his need for privacy, and even a tendency toward secretiveness. His indented temples signified a compulsive nature, which usually manifests as workaholism but it also added to his need to demand getting things right, no matter how much work it required.
His features also help explain why he first chose to treat his cancer on a “spirit” level rather than getting surgery immediately after his initial diagnosis. His rounded forehead, strong nose, and concave temples are all signs of a highly spiritual person, who will tend to believe in the power of energy healing and non-invasive treatments. His highly sensitive nature would also make him reluctant to let a surgeon cut into his body.
But he also had features that showed his pragmatic side -- his squared-off chin showed good common sense. His well-defined jaw revealed a driven and competitive nature, which was a benefit to an entrepreneur like him, but sometimes detrimental to relationships.
Another aspect of my work includes looking at the imprint on your inner nature that happened on the day of your birth. This is not covered in my books -- I only teach it in my workshops. When we look at this additional information for Steve Jobs, it opens up a whole new side of him.
First, it showed the prospect of early fame - Some people may have forgotten that Steve Jobs was even younger than Mark Zuckerberg when he became a tech rock star.
Here we also discover a man with natural charm, who was constantly inspired with new ideas, and who had the ability to get others excited about his inspirations.
Lastly, this was someone who carried a strong emphasis on the importance of love and passion as key in life. So it makes sense that in an interview about how he made his hiring decisions, Jobs said, “They have to be really smart. But the real issue for me is: Are they going to fall in love with Apple? Because if they fall in love with Apple, everything else will take care of itself.”
Certainly he inspired many of us to fall in love with what his genius produced and he’ll be dearly missed.

I’d love to read your face!

With her 30 year background in ancient Chinese principles of balance and health, Jean is well known for providing fun, fascinating and practical information that can be put to immediate use in your life.
Jean married into a Chinese family when she was in her 20's, and first learned face reading from her very traditional mother-in-law. It wasn't until years later that she discovered how tolerant her mother-in-law had been; since Jean had no "moneybags" on her face, she wasn't considered to be a lucky match for her husband!
She went on to study the deeper foundations of face reading with many teachers over the years, and learned that it has nothing to do with luck and everything to do with learning to be true to your nature.
