How to Get Your Power Back
The Wisdom of Your Face is about creating compassionate and affirming ways for you to live in alignment with your true self. Chinese face reading is a branch of Chinese medicine, which considers your face to be a blueprint of your inner nature. My goal is to teach you to read the map of your original design so that you can move through life with a fearless heart, able to love every face you encounter, especially that one in the mirror. |
The Meaning of Wrinkles
It's often a huge relief for people to discover that not all wrinkles are "bad!" In fact, there are some wrinkles you are supposed to develop. And all the wrinkles on your face have important information that you can use to create a happier life. Here are three examples of some common wrinkles on the face:

 |
|
What we call "crow's feet," those lines radiating out from the sides of your eyes, the Chinese call "Joy Lines." |
Crow's Feet = Joy Lines
What we call "crow's feet," those lines radiating out from the sides of your eyes, the Chinese call "Joy Lines!" They're a sign of an open heart, someone who easily exchanges love with people, whether it's a compliment to the bank teller, or in deeper ways in loving relationships. The more joy someone spreads in their lives, the more of these lines they'll have. These are certainly not wrinkles we should try to erase!

If these the vertical lines between the eyebrows are deep, the good news is they reveal a logical mind, someone who can be decisive, take action and work hard to achieve their goals. |
Two vertical lines between the eyebrows
Many people in Western culture have two small vertical lines right between their eyebrows. If these lines are deep, the good news is they reveal a logical mind, someone who can be decisive, take action and work hard to achieve their goals.
But these wrinkles often show someone whose life may be devoured by work, having to focus intensely to handle everything they've taken on, and being too impacted by stress. They can also indicate that feelings of frustration or even anger will build in the system as a reaction to stress. If this is you, the solution is not to Botox them away and continue to live immersed in this kind of response to life! One solution would be to create more opportunities for stress relief, so that your system can come back into balance. Then these wrinkles have the potential to ease, without your spending money on Botox! (Yes, wrinkles can fade or even disappear as you make inner change.)
Some helpful solutions to relieve the kind of stress that is causing these wrinkles is to create more opportunities for deep rest in your life, time to replenish the energy you're having to spend. These can be simple changes, such as taking a long soak in the tub more regularly, or lounging in bed one morning a week, meditating, or getting regular massages. You should also exercise to work off some of the tension, and definitely make time for any experience that makes every cell in your body relax and go, "Ahhhhh…..!"

Developing Purpose Lines means that you're on your path, moving toward fulfilling your purpose in the world. |
Purpose Lines
The nasolabial folds, those lines that come out from the sides of your nose and go down toward your mouth are sometimes called "Purpose Lines" in Chinese face reading. These are wrinkles that you definitely want to grow! Developing Purpose Lines means that you're on your path, moving toward fulfilling your purpose in the world.
They don't necessarily mean you have life all figured out, are in the perfect relationship or the perfect job. But they do mean that in some important ways you're moving toward your calling. Some people think these lines are just a sign of aging - but in fact, Purpose Lines are sometimes seen in children, especially ones who seem to have found their calling early in life, such as child actors.
If you've developed these lines, however, there's also the potential for you to take life a bit too seriously! So be sure to work on those Joy Lines as well, and everything will be fine!
Every wrinkle, every mark, every feature on your face has a meaning, and can offer you so much information about who you are, what you've learned, and where you need to go from here to create the life you deserve. So many of the wrinkles you feel bad about are actually ones that you'd love if you only knew what they mean! You can use face reading as a map to follow to move into a new future with more joy, love and certainty.

Job Hunt? Read the Interviewer's Face to Get the Offer!
If you are job-hunting, you can get some clues from the interviewer's face, to know how to establish rapport, communicate in a way he or she will relate to, and best of all, know what that person is probably really looking for!
Here are just a few things to look for:
| |
 |
|
A strong jaw indicates a strong belief system. This person is much more likely to make a quick judgment about who you are. |
Jaw
If the first thing you notice about the person who's interviewing you for a job is a sharp, well-defined jaw, it's important to realize you have about ten seconds to establish your credibility! A strong jaw indicates a strong belief system. This is a wonderful trait, but everything has its positives and negatives.
In an interview situation, with limited time, it means that this person is much more likely to make a quick judgment about who you are. They may jump to conclusions if you don't take advantage of your first few moments together to prove yourself.

 |
|
If your interviewer has a large mouth or very full lips, you can be sure that family, friends and relationships are important to them. |
Mouth
If your interviewer has a large mouth or very full lips, you can be sure that family, friends and relationships are important to them. Glance around the office and you'll probably see some photos of the people in their lives.
Most people would think it'd be unprofessional to mention your family in a job interview, but in fact with a person like this, if you don't talk about how important family is to you, they might not feel a good connection with you. You might even comment on how you're a good team player, or consider your co-workers to be like family.

If your interviewer has an unusually prominent brow bone, this can give you important information about how he tends to view others.
|
Brow bone
The brow bone is the bone that lies under the eyebrows. Its strength correlates to the level of testosterone in the body, so men naturally have stronger brow bones than women. But even if he's male, if your interviewer has an unusually prominent brow bone, this can give you important information about how he tends to view others.
People with brow bones that stick out dramatically will have an inner desire to dominate others. They will also have issues with authority. And they tend to perceive everyone as "authority!" In other words, they think everyone is trying to order them around, and will have a pretty big chip on their shoulder. If you see this feature on your interviewer's face, find out whether he'd be the one you'd be working under, as you might want to give that job a pass!

If the person on the other side of the desk has very weak eyebrows, this can mean they have trouble making decisions, and are not very confident overall. |
If the person on the other side of the desk has very weak eyebrows, this can mean they have trouble making decisions, and are not very confident overall. If you come across as too cocky or sure of yourself, they may feel threatened and you'd lose their vote.
However, if they have bushy eyebrows, you're looking at someone who values assertiveness and who wants an employee who'll set firm goals and not let anything get in his way.

How Does Barack Obama Make Decisions?

Barack Obama |
There are several areas of the face where you can see how someone makes decisions. If you're being impacted by their decisions, this can be good to know!
Face reading is based on the same foundation as Chinese medicine, and provides profound information on many levels about who you are inside, how you will tend to think, feel, behave, and how you move through life overall. So the information below is just one small glimpse into what Barack Obama's decision-making process is!
• Obama's eyebrows go in a straight line. This reveals that he carefully evaluates any decision and is not impulsive. He values logic and has a good linear thinking process. Once he's satisfied that he's thought something through, then he'll feel confident about his decision and take quick action. (Michelle's eyebrows reveal a very different style - she reacts much more quickly and spontaneously, which probably helps him not get stuck in a rut!)
• His ears stick out, the sign of a highly independent person! This is a positive trait for a leader, an indication he thinks for himself. It may drive the people who hope to control him crazy, however.
• His hairline is straight, rather than curved or uneven, which means he can be a bit of a rule breaker - and a paradigm-shifter. This combined with his ears show that we can expect him to continue to be creative and a bit rebellious in his decision making process.
• Lastly, his jaw is well-defined but somewhat narrow, an indication that while he has firm beliefs, he is definitely open to listening to others. If they can convince him their point is correct, he's willing to change his mind. I believe these are all positive qualities for a leader to have!

How to Get Your Power Back
 |
The ancient principles of Chinese medicine and Taoist wisdom that my work is based on may seem like they might not be practical and valuable in modern life. But in fact, it's this very profound understanding of how to move through life that can help you make the right decisions about money, career, adapting to stress, and creating a new future for yourself.
And this wisdom can be used on an even deeper level, to understand the feelings that arise as you move through life, the challenges you encounter, and how to remain in balance no matter what happens.
Chinese medicine describes five emotions that cause imbalance, but that can be transformed to bring you back into harmony. The five emotions are fear, anger, excitement, loneliness and grief.
Especially with the world's economic situation, the undercurrent of emotions people are feeling is keeping many caught in negativity. It's a natural response, but staying in this stage for too long is not healthy or productive. It can block the universal nourishing qi (energy) from entering your life, drain your reserves and prevent you from moving forward into a new future.
We learn about this in-depth in my workshops, but here are some insights that may help you:
Fear: To transform fear, summon your inherent wisdom. We all have an ancient inner sage, who can connect us with our wisdom. Call on your sage, and you'll uncover your courage. Your courage is the antidote to your fear. It empowers you to navigate the dark seas with trust and an adventurous spirit.
Anger: To transform anger or frustration, draw on your inner insight to discover understanding and forgiveness, so you can move forward smoothly. The visionary mind can pierce through emotional reaction to see things more clearly and ease the tension. This allows you to change the energy of anger to create positive growth.
Excitement: To transform excitement (anxiety), call your spirit home to your heart. Most of us extend our energy fields far out from our bodies and they become too diluted and more easily affected by others. Feel your breath, feel gravity in your body, become aware of where you end and the rest of the world begins.
Loneliness: To transform loneliness, reach out to help a friend, open your arms to receive love. Worry about love and support can cloud the mind and keep you stuck. Soften to allow arms around you, and most importantly, ask yourself how much you're being a friend to yourself.
Grief: To transform grief and loss, breathe in the divine breath from heaven, and let your energy rise to become aware of a more expansive view. As you can begin to see the value of your experience, and new horizons opening because of it, you can let go and move forward with greater calm and deeper power.
You can at any time access your inner sage, visionary, calm heart, loving friend, and spacious self, to move into your power, and clear the way to the life you deserve.
I hope you'll join me at a workshop soon to learn how to put this to use in your life. Flyers are available on my Events page
